I have had issues with the way math is taught since I was a junior high student. In our work with districts during the Freedom to Learn program and now at the One-to-One Institute we repeatedly see the need for reform in the pedagogy and teaching methods in many math classrooms.
I just stumbled on a TED Talk by Dan Meyer that clearly identifies the problem and provides potential solutions that align nicely with Project RED's inquiry-based pedagogy.
